Here’s a productive approach to learning, growing your network and enhancing your visibility online.
Do this and your future self will thank you!
Step 1:: Create a Twitter list of accounts you learn the most from. Checking this list to see the latest content from your favorite accounts versus scrolling/searching on your feed to find the relevant info will save you time and mental space.
Step 2:: Create a bookmarks folder and bookmark URLs of websites, Youtube channels, social media profiles, podcasts that you would like to follow on a specific topic. (For example: You can pick large topics such as ‘design’ or narrow down and create folders for each topic you’d like to learn about in design -like: logo design).
Step 3:: Create another bookmarks folder and bookmark the LinkedIn profiles of those you want to follow regularly and engage with. Open the folder every morning and dedicate 10 mins to check any of their new content and perhaps engage with their posts. This will help you increase your visibility by regularly building connections with like-minded people.
Step 4:: Subscribe to newsletters that you learn from and unsubscribe from any that don’t serve you.
This way, you’ll be saving yourself A LOT OF TIME while having a focused learning plan that you don’t have to filter through every time.
Feel free to join my Private Facebook Group “Design & More” where i regularly share design-related job vacancies in the humanitarian sector (and few times from the corporate sector).
Good luck,
H.
